JESUS FILM OUTREACH in Gezina, Pretoria – 18 August 2023

It is one thing hearing about this Man, our supreme sacrifice, that offered Himself up once to put away sin forever. This Man, that sat down at the right hand of God! The One that made the Old Covenant obsolete and has given us a “New Covenant”. (Hebr 10:12 / 8:13)

But to experience the reality and see the visualization of the life of Jesus just hits home on a completely different level. It amazes us every time, even though the film is about 2 hours, to see everyone on the edge of their seats right until the very last minute! Even the children!

The film’s script is taken directly from the Gospel of Luke and offers an account of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth. Luke presents the story of Jesus as the fulfilment of God’s promises and because Jesus speaks many parables in Luke, this movie also becomes a source for deep reflection about the nature of God’s reign and the ways of living faithfully in this world.

People associate with the scenes and characters in the movie and Jesus became a reality for those who engage and get drawn into the film.

One dear brother was just walking by and as he saw Jesus on the screen, felt the conviction and need to repent for allowing him to be drawn so far away from God. We could minister to him and lead him into a repentance prayer whereafter he recommitted his life to Christ!

One of the biggest blessings last night was that we could say to them after the movie: “We will be back Sunday morning at 8 am right here in the park” as we will continue with our Street Church platform of disciple-making.

Matthew 28:19,20 - Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
